This Tom is putting on a display trying to get the attention of two hens.  The scene is painted on the fan of a wild Eastern Turkey, with 18 tail feathers and almost as many covert feathers.  The center is adorned with smaller covert feathers, left in their natural state to allow you to see the iridescent value of the feathers. The fan is matted and framed.
